Labor Day weekend I had a picnic on Stone Mountain in a celebration of a day off and the lovely weather. We didn’t stay for the laser show, leaving it for another thing to do on another day. Here’s some photos.
So Stone Mountain is the largest exposed piece of granite in the world. I love that these pretty yellow wildflowers were creeping out of cracks. With the blue sky they look just right.
One of the coolest things about being on the top of Stone Mountain is being able to make pictures like these. The granite is beautiful, the sky that say was clear and the prettiest shade of blue nature can produce. And this guy in the red shirt looking off into the distance gives you the feeling of being on top of the world.
I really enjoyed our picnic, which was right next to the laser show field and in a clearing in the woods. There was just enough shade to keep us cool.
And of course, SHARK COOKIES. I encourage you to find these at your local Whole Foods because they are simply AWESOME. Everything tastes better in fun shapes.
